MAMÍFEROS SILVESTRES RECOLHIDOS EM ÁREAS URBANAS DE SERGIPE, NORDESTE DO BRASIL

The intense urban growth causes environmental imbalances and destruction of habitats, then the wildlife tend to life in urban and periurban areas, being the contacts between human beings and other species each time more frequent. This research had as goals realize a search of the wild mammals seized by the Environmental Squad of Sergipe State (Pelotão Ambiental de Sergipe, PPAmb), mapping the areas with most occurrences of apprehensions and identify the destination of these animals. Through the analysis and interpretation of the data content on the animals occurrence records between 2011 and 2013, the PPAmb seized 77 individuals of 13 species. The capital, Aracaju, concentrated the largest number (N=40). The majority of seized mammals (51,9%) was delivered to another organs and environmental institutions, 39% were released on their own place of origin and in 9,1% of the apprehensions the destination was not informed. The absence of a sorting center difficult the work of PPAmb, this way, it depends on the government enable the implantation of suitable places, where the seized mammals could be received and be rehabilited.
