COMPOSIÇÃO E DISTRIBUIÇÃO DE ANFÍBIOS ANUROS EM UM MUNICÍPIO DO SUL DO PIAUÍ

The abiotic conditions, such as humidity and temperature, favor the great diversity in Brazil. Being, thus, assessments of communities are fundamental to the understanding of diversity. In the State of Piauí studies are scarce and this makes necessary an expansion of these. The objective of this work is to inventory and diagnose the anurofauna of the municipality of Alvorada do Gurgueia. The municipality has vegetation characterized by two biomes Cerrado Field and Caatinga Field. The collections were made at night, in reproductive sites. The sample effort corresponded to thirty hours per person, during three rainy annual periods. In municipality of Alvorada do Gurguéia were found 16 anuran species belonging to eight genus, and distributed between the families Bufonidae, Hylidae, Leptodactylidae, and Microhylidae. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a need of intensification of the studies, and the delay in realizing them, associated to the anthropic actions, can cause the species disappear before even being described.
